THE LEAD OFF: The Power completed the five-game sweep of Greensboro with a rain-shortened 3-2 win on Monday night in Charleston. Connor Joe hit a sac fly in the first to bring home the first run of the game for the Power but Greensboro scored a run in the third to tie it up. The rain picked up in the fifth inning and Jordan Luplow hit a clutch two-run home run to make it a 3-1 game. After the 'Hoppers scored a run in the sixth inning to make it a one-run game, the rain became heavier in the Power seventh. Following a 28-minute delay, the decision was made to call the game. Jose Regalado earned the win and Yeudy Garcia took a no-decision after he struck out six over four innings of work.

DRAGOON: West Virginia opens a four-game series against the Kannapolis Intimidators tonight on the road. The two teams have split the six games played so far this year with each team winning a pair of games at their respective ballparks. The last time these two teams played was in West Virginia from May 6-8. The Power hold the all-time series lead with a 57-56 record and the two teams will conclude the season against each other from September 1-5.

WE'LL TAKE IT!: The rain-shortened victory for West Virginia was the first five-game sweep at home in the history of the West Virginia Power. Previously, the Power swept Delmarva at the end of the 2011 season at Perdue Stadium in a five-game set. West Virginia will play three more five-game series including one against Greensboro (July 8-12), Lexington (August 29-September 2) and against Kannapolis (September 3-7) to conclude the season.

SUCHY ON A ROLL: Right fielder Michael Suchy hit .500 during the series against Greensboro and has been red-hot this month. The Pirates' fifth round pick from last year is hitting .350 this month and has a .997 OPS. Suchy hit .222 in April and .245 in May.

KEEP IT CLOSE: Close games have been a trademark of the Power this season. Of the 74 games the Power played, 43 have been decided by two runs or less. In the 11-year history of the franchise, the most games decided by two runs or less was 67 which occurred in the 2011 season.

STREAK'S OVER: Power shortstop Cole Tucker saw his team-best 12-game hit streak halted with an 0-for-3 day on Monday night. During his streak which began on June 4, Tucker hit .360. All told, Tucker is hitting .281, good for second-best on the Power team among all qualifying batters. The 18-year-old is hitting .311 this month, his best month of the season. In Monday's rain-shortened game, Tucker was due up to lead off the seventh before the game was called.

HOPE HE'S GOT HIS EQUIPMENT: The Atlanta Braves promoted RHP Ryan Kelly to the majors on Sunday. Kelly played with the Power during the first two years of the Pittsburgh Pirates affiliation from 2009-2010. If Kelly makes his debut on Tuesday he would become the 46th player in West Virginia Power history to make an appearance in the majors and the second this season (Diego Moreno, June 22).

PROMO UPDATE- JULY 4: West Virginia's Fourth of July Celebration will feature an extended version of postgame fireworks for all fans in attendance as the Power celebrate Independence Day.

POWER POINTS: West Virginia's 51 sacrifice bunts this season are the most in affiliated baseball...Taylor Gushue has 14 passed balls in 52 games, three shy of tying Angel Salome's 2007 club record...Tito Polo and Francisco Diaz went back-to-back on Sunday and it was the first time since Harold Ramirez and Edwin Espinal did it on June 8 last year...The 13 runs scored by the Power in Sunday's win were the most runs in a single game since the July 30, 2012.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh was off yesterday and will play Detroit tonight...Indianapolis was held to three hits in a 6-1 loss to Columbus...Tyler Glasnow returned to the Curve and struck out seven batters on 70 pitches over 3.2 innings of work...Luis Heredia surrendered three unearned runs over six innings of work...Erik Forgione tallied the lone RBI for the Black Bears in their 7-1 loss to Hudson Valley...Bristol was shutout by Elizabethton 6-0 and mustered just two hits on offense.

ON THE AIR: West Virginia Power games can be heard on Charleston's ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, online at wvpower.com and on the TuneIn Radio App. Adam Marco will call the action once again and will be joined by Mike Baggerman when the team plays at Appalachian Power Park.
