THE LEAD OFF: For the second straight game the Power used a come-from-behind effort to defeat the Lexington Legends, this time a 7-2 final on Saturday night in Charleston. West Virginia trailed 1-0 before their first turn at bat and tied the game on an RBI groundout from Jordan Luplow. In the second, Taylor Gushue's sac fly gave the Power a lead and Trace Tam Sing followed with an RBI double to make it 3-1. Two innings later, Chase Simpson hit an RBI triple and Gushue followed with his second sac fly. Luplow delivered the final hit of the night for West Virginia, a two-run homer to left. Stephen Tarpley earned his seventh win with a quality start while Sam Street notched the save.

MUSTACHED WARRIORS: The Power continue the homestand with game three of the series against the Lexington Legends today at Appalachian Power Park. This is the first time the Power have seen the Royals' Class-A affiliate since the five-game series in late April. The Power are 8-2 against Lexington this year and hold a 106-97 record all-time against them. The two teams will meet again twice in late August.

TARP TIME: Stephen Tarpley put together another solid start in West Virginia's win on Saturday against the Legends. The left hander worked six innings and gave up only an RBI double in the first inning. This season, the left hander is 7-2 with a 2.29 ERA though doesn't qualify for the league leaders with 59.0 innings pitched. In four starts this month, Tarpley is 4-0 with a 1.50 ERA. He is expected to start on Friday in Lakewood.

COMING THRU IN THE CLUTCH: West Virginia went 4-for-7 with runners in scoring position in last night's win against the Legends and are 12-for-22 in this series against Lexington. In the three-game series with Hagerstown, the Power went 3-for-17 with runners in scoring position.

SING IT OUT: Trace Tam Sing has started both games of this series as the designated hitter and has come up clutch both days. In last night's win, he hit an RBI double to give the Power a 3-1 lead and laced the go-ahead two-run double on Friday night. With runners in scoring position, Tam Sing is hitting .345 with 20 RBIs and has performed even better when there are runners in scoring position and two outs (.429).

INCHING TOWARDS RECORDS: Reliever Nick Neumann leads the team with 12 saves and is now tied for sole possession of fifth all-time in Power franchise history. Nate Kilcrease from the 2012 team tallied 15 saves to lead the franchise. Neumann's save two nights ago was his first since June 25 against Greensboro.

ROUND TRIP TO TORONTO: Tito Polo was placed on the Temporary Inactive List so the outfielder could participate in the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. Representing Colombia, Polo is 3-for-17 with one home run and was the leadoff hitter in the first three games. Polo went 1-for-4 in the loss on Friday to the Dominican Republic. Baseball at the Pan-Am games concludes today.
