Wright and Ludwinski Named to CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

The Canadian Hockey League announced today their rosters for the 2022 Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. Kingston Frontenacs forwards, Shane Wright and Paul Ludwinski will both play in the showcase game on Wednesday, March 23 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.

The Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game highlights the top NHL Draft eligible talent from across the Ontario Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, and Western Hockey League competing before hundreds of NHL scouts in attendance.

Since its reintroduction as the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in 1996, the event has featured 15 players who were later selected first overall in the NHL Draft, including Alexis Lafreniere (2020), Nico Hischier (2017), Connor McDavid (2015), Aaron Ekblad (2014), Nathan MacKinnon (2013), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (2011), Taylor Hall (2010), John Tavares (2009), Steven Stamkos (2008), Patrick Kane (2007), Marc-Andre Fleury (2003), Rick Nash (2002), Vincent Lecavalier (1998), Joe Thornton (1997), and Chris Phillips (1996).

Shane Wright headlines the prospect game as the projected number one pick in the upcoming 2022 NHL Draft. Wright tops Central Scouting's midterm rankings and the talented forward is scouted as a can't miss prospect. The Frontenacs captain currently has 52 points this season in 37 games played. He has 19 goals and 33 assists, which gives him a points-per-game total of 1.41.

Paul Ludwinski is currently ranked 29th overall in the Central Scouting's midterm rankings for North American skaters. The skilled, hard working, two-way forward is currently having an impressive rookie season to start his OHL career. Through 40 games, he has registered 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points.
