Ottawa 67's News Release

In the midst of a standout rookie season with the Ottawa 67's, 2022 NHL Entry Draft prospect Vinzenz Rohrer has been named to this year's Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

"Vinzenz has been a key contributor with the 67's this season," said General Manager James Boyd. "We are excited to watch him compete in this prestigious league event."

The contest will feature two teams, comprised of 40 of Canada's top junior players, as they showcase their talents ahead of this year's NHL Entry Draft.

Selected 27th overall by Ottawa in the 2021 CHL Import Draft, the highly-touted Rohrer has come as advertised in his rookie OHL campaign. The Feldkirch, Austria native has appeared in 41 games with the Barber Poles, scoring 13 goals, and 18 assists, sitting second on the team with 31 points.

Rohrer, 17, also suited up with Team Austria at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, notching an assist in two games, before the tournament's abrupt cancellation due to a COVID-19 outbreak among the participants.

In light of the pandemic, this will be the first iteration of the CHL Top Prospects Game since January 16, 2020. The 67's were well-represented that night, as well, with Marco Rossi and Jack Quinn in attendance, and Quinn taking home Player of the Game honours.

The 2022 Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game - hosted by the Kitchener Rangers - will take place from the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium, on Wednesday, March 23, at 8:00pm ET.
