The Kingston Frontenacs scored the first and last goals of the game, but it was the North Bay Battalion coming back from two one-goal deficits to defeat the Kingston Frontenacs 5-4 on Friday night at Leon's Centre. Kyle Jackson had a hat trick for the visitors while Lucas Edmonds and Shane Wright each had a pair of goals in the teams first matchup of the 2020-21 season.

The night was the annual Remembrance Day Game and was highlighted by captain Shane Wright placing a wreath at centre ice in a memorial of veterans. The Frontenacs wore their CADPAT camo uniforms in salute.

The teams totaled four goals in the first with Kingston opening the scoring early on a Wright marker (5). Martin Chromiak drew an assist and rookie Matthew Soto extended a point-streak to seven games with a helper on the 1-0 goal and sits tied for fourth in freshman OHL scoring two back of the leaders.

After pair of mid-period goals a minute apart by the Battalions' Matvey Petrov (10) and Kyle Jackson (4), Edmonds (6) scored the first of his two goals at 15:11 for Kingston to send the teams squared up 2-2 heading to first intermission. North Bay defenceman Ty nelson earned an assist on Jackson's goal to tie him with Oshawa's Calum Ritchie in the rookie scoring race (13) and leads all rookies in assists (11).

Edmonds (7) potted a second one-goal lead at 3-2 for Kingston midway through the second period but North Bay scored three straight goals in the final period including a goal by captain Liam Arnsby (5) and a pair by Jackson (5,6) to complete the hattrick. Wright (6) added a late goal with an empty net as Kingston pushed to get the game to extra time.
