
Spitfires Comeback and Win 3-2 over Erie in OT

It was a tough 50 minutes for the Spitfires. Many posts hit and a hot goaltender gave them trouble most of the night. But the Spitfires had a fantastic third period and turned it around.
In the first period the Otters and the Spits traded chances but it was the Otters who got on the board first with a powerplay goal. The Spitfires lead in shots 13-7 after the first period.
The second period was much of the game, the Spitfires failed to capitalized on their powerplay's and the Otters cashed in again on their powerplay to go up 2-0 late in 2nd period. After 40 minutes of play, the Spitfires still lead in shots 25-15.
In the third period the Spitfires came alive! Cuylle scored shorthanded of a quick face-off win by Abraham to bring the Spitfires within one. Just 12 seconds later the Spitfires tied it with Abraham centering the puck and it hitting of a defenceman and it. After 60 minutes we were tied 2-2.
In overtime, Johnston went end to end dangled the defenceman and buried it one handed for a highlight reel goal and winning the game for the Spitfires.
The Spitfires next home game is Saturday November 13th when the SOO come to town!
