Wranglers Slam Aces 8-0 In Game One, Take 1-0 Series Lead

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers took a 1-0 series lead with an 8-0 victory over the Alaska Aces in Game One of the National Conference Semifinals on Friday night in front of 3,575 fans at the Orleans Arena. Forwards Peter Ferraro and Adam Miller each scored twice and set up three goals, setting a new team record with five points in one playoff game. The 8-0 win sets a new team playoff mark for most goals in one game and largest margin of victory. Left wing Marco Peluso set a new team playoff record with four assists. Goalie Kevin Lalande stopped all 20 shots he faced, securing his first career playoff shutout. Left wing Shawn Limpright scored twice, while forwards Curtis Fraser and Tyler Mosienko also scored in the win. Game Two of the best-of-seven series is Saturday night at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena.

Las Vegas scored the first goal of the night with just over five minutes remaining in the opening period. Defenseman Jason Jozsa rifled a shot on net that deflected off Shawn Limpright's stick at 14:25, giving the Wranglers a 1-0 lead.

Las Vegas opened up Game One with five unanswered goals in the middle period. Adam Miller tallied his first professional playoff goal at 2:43, giving Las Vegas a 2-0 lead. Right wing Peter Ferraro scored his second goal of the playoffs at 9:09, extending the Wranglers lead to 3-0. Limpright scored his third goal of the playoffs and second of the night at 11:08, pushing the Wranglers lead to 4-0. Ferraro snapped in his second of the night and third of the playoffs just 20-seconds later for a Las Vegas 5-0 lead. The Wranglers capped off their five-goal second period with center Tyler Mosienko scoring his fourth goal of the playoffs at 18:57 for the 6-0 lead. Left wing Marco Peluso set a new team record with four assists in the second period, the most assists in one period by a single player and the most assists in one playoff game.

The Wranglers made it 7-0 as Miller scored on a breakaway at 9:50 of the third period. Curtis Fraser connected for a power-play goal at 13:48 for the 8-0 final.

Game Two is slated for Saturday, April 26th at 7:05 pm. The best-of-seven series then shifts to Anchorage for Games Three, Four and Five. Game Three is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29th at 8:15 pm (PDT) at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage, AK. Game Four is set for Thursday, May 1st at 8:15 pm (PDT) in Alaska. If necessary, Game Five would take place at Sullivan Arena at 8:15 pm (PDT) on Friday, May 2nd. The series will shift back to Las Vegas for Games Six and Seven if needed. Game Six would be on Tuesday, May 6th at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena. Game Seven is set for Wednesday, May 7th at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena.
