Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today an affiliation agreement with the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League. The Flames and Wranglers agreement will see Calgary prospects continue their development for the NHL while wearing Wranglers uniforms.

"Anytime you have an opportunity as an ECHL club to affiliate with an NHL club and deal directly with them is a very positive thing", said Wranglers' General Manager and Head Coach Glen Gulutzan. "We are very excited to be affiliated with the Flames because they are an organization that is heading in the right direction with some great young prospects that will play here in Las Vegas before they work their way up to the National Hockey League".

The Flames concluded a five-year affiliation agreement with the ECHL's Johnstown Chiefs following the 2002-2003 season. The Chiefs made the playoffs three of the five seasons they were affiliated with Calgary. Last year, 17 of 32 players on the Chiefs roster played in both the ECHL and American Hockey League. For the 2003-2004 season, the Flames' AHL affiliate will be the Lowell (MA) Lock Monsters.

"We are pleased to have secured an agreement with Las Vegas that allows for us to enhance our development program in the East Coast Hockey League," said Flames' Head Coach & General Manager Darryl Sutter. "We were seeking an arrangement where our prospects could play in a highly competitive environment while under the direction of a passionate and qualified hockey operation. I look forward to our relationship with Glen Gulutzan and the Las Vegas Wranglers."

"An affiliation with Calgary is the next building block in bringing a top-notch professional hockey organization to the people of Las Vegas," said Wranglers vice president Billy Johnson. "With the Orleans Arena, the Calgary Flames, and the Wranglers' organizational commitment to becoming a top ten professional sports franchise in the United States, Las Vegas should expect a monumental shift in fortune when it comes to professional sports."

Season seat packages to see the Wranglers play at the Orleans Arena in 2003-2004 are now on sale for as low as $90. Call the Wranglers at (702)-471-PUCK (7825) or visit their website at www.lasvegaswranglers.com for more information.
