FRESNO, Calif. – As they continue to prepare for their move to both the Save Mart Center and the 31-team ECHL, the Fresno Falcons will host Falcons Fest 2003 on Thursday, August 21, at the Piccadilly Inn University (4961 N. Cedar Ave.) from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m., where they will unveil the team's new logo and uniforms as well as auction off the club's game-worn home sweaters from the 2002-2003 season.

The event is open to the public and gets underway at 5:30 p.m. in the Waldorf Ballroom at the Piccadilly Inn University with free hors d'oeuvres and soft drinks and a cash bar. Falcons players will be on hand for autographs and fans will have a chance to preview the team's newly re-designed website as well as pre-order the club's new jerseys, which will be worn during the upcoming 2003-2004 season.

The program commences at 6 p.m. with an update on the progress of the Save Mart Center from the arena's general manager, Stephen Tadlock, and the logo unveiling before culminating with the signed jersey auction. The auction marks the last opportunity for fans to obtain the style of Falcons sweater worn during the team's final year at both Selland Arena and in the West Coast Hockey League. Proceeds from the signed, game-worn home jerseys will benefit the Falcons' re-vamped school and community programs.

Falcons Fest 2003 also represents the last chance for fans to become season-ticket holders before the official seat selection weekend takes place at the Save Mart Center on August 23 and 24. More information regarding Seat Selection Weekend will follow shortly.

The Falcons open their inaugural season in the ECHL with an 11-game road trip beginning on October 17 at Bakersfield's Centennial Garden against the Condors before making their Save Mart Center debut on November 16 also versus the Condors.

The ECHL is the largest professional hockey league in North America and will feature 31 teams in 17 states playing a record 1,116 games in the upcoming 2003-2004 season. The ECHL has sent 215 players to play in the National Hockey League throughout its 15-year history and had 450 call-ups to the American Hockey League in 2002-2003, more than any other professional league.

Season tickets to see the Falcons play at the Save Mart Center in 2003-2004 are now on sale with mini-packs beginning as low as $48. Call the Falcons at 485-PUCK (7825) or visit www.fresnofalcons.com for more information.
