Louisiana IceGators News Release
Lafayette, LA â The Louisiana IceGators are happy to announce that the Zoo of Acadiana has signed on as the title sponsor of Clawd's Krewe, the Official Louisiana IceGators Kids Club. The free Clawd's Krewe is also quickly closing in on 200 members.
As the title sponsor, the Zoo of Acadiana will host a Clawd's Krewe kickoff party, in addition to an in-season event, with Clawd and players in attendance. Clawd will also appear at the zoo's Safari of Lights in December.
"I'm really excited about being the sponsor for the kids club," said Zoo of Acadiana owner George Oldenburg. "We certainly want the IceGators to be successful, and I think it's a kid-safe program. When the kids get to come to the zoo, it's a safe place to be."
In addition to having Clawd at the events at the zoo, Oldenburg says the zoo has recently acquired baby alligators that the kids will be able to have their picture taken with.
"We shoot for anything that is family oriented, whatever will keep family together and as a group," said Oldenburg. "There is no better place than the zoo."
"I am so pleased that the Zoo of Acadiana is on board as the sponsor of Clawd's Krewe," said Jill LeBlanc, the IceGators community relations coordinator. "It is a perfect fit, with both of our businesses geared towards families. I look forward to working with George and his staff and having events at the zoo."
"We are really excited about the IceGators and the new ownership and hope to see everyone at the games, because we're going to be there," added Oldenburg.
Kids ages 2-12 can register for the free Clawd's Krewe online at www.icegators.com. The zoo also has registration forms available. Registration includes a free t-shirt, personalized membership card and lanyard and a welcome letter from Clawd.
LeBlanc is also happy that the Clawd's Krewe membership continues to grow. "We're thrilled to be closing in on the 200-member milestone for Clawd's Krewe, the Zoo of Acadiana's Official Louisiana IceGators Kids Club," she added. "I think the kids of Acadiana will be very excited with the activities and benefits we have planned just for them"
The Zoo of Acadiana is located on Highway 90 and is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., seven days a week. The zoo is located on 46 acres, with a train, concession stand and more than 300 different species of animals. Cost is $7.95 for adults and $4.50 for children.
