Wranglers Nipped By Grizzlies 3-2 In a Shootout

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® were defeated by the Utah Grizzlies 3-2 in a shootout in front of 4,573 fans on Saturday night at the Orleans Arena. Las Vegas forwards Sean Owens and Chris Neiszner each scored in the first shootout loss of the season at home. Forwards Adam Miller and Shawn Limpright both had two assists in the defeat. Wranglers' goalie Kevin Lalande stopped 26 of 28 Utah shots in regulation. The Wranglers will play in Utah next Friday at 6:05 PM (PST).

The two teams traded a pair of goals in the opening period with Utah striking first. Forward Evan Kotsopoulos scored his sixth goal of the season just 1:19 into the game. Utah made it 2-0 with a power-play goal by winger Tim Verbeek at 3:36 of the period. The Wranglers answered back just 29-seconds later to cut the Utah lead to 2-1. Sean Owens scored his second goal of the year off a feed from Adam Miller at 4:05. Las Vegas tied the game 2-2 at 8:42 with a power-play goal by Chris Neiszner. Neiszner's team-leading 11th goal of the season was set up by Miller and Shawn Limpright.

The game stayed scoreless the rest of the way as neither team scored in regulation or overtime, forcing a shootout. Utah scored on the team's first three attempts. The Wranglers scored once in the first four attempts to fall in the shootout.

Las Vegas will play in Utah next Friday and Saturday at 6:05 PM (PST).
