Idaho Steelheads News Release

Ontario, CA- The Idaho Steelheads (19-12-2) fell to the Ontario Reign (19-11-2) by a 2-0 score at the Citizens Business Bank Arena tonight. The loss snapped the Steelheads four-game winning streak, which dated back to December 20.

The game had some fireworks early, as Idaho's Brent Shepheard and Ontario's David Walker dropped squared off and dropped the gloves two minutes in to the hockey game. It wasn't until 9:23 of the second, however, that the scoreless tie was broken.

Dale Reinhardt capitalized on a turnover in the Steelheads end, and fired a shot into the top-right corner behind Idaho goalie Matt Climie for the eventual game-winner, his third of the season. Chris Curran added an assist on the goal.

The lone goal of the third period was an empty-netter to make it 2-0; Todd Jackson scored his eighth of the year, unassisted.

Climie, who had won eight-of-nine starts entering tonight, suffered the loss and fell to 11-6-0. For Ontario, John Murray stopped all 38 Idaho shots he faced, including 20 in the third period alone, to improve his record to 11-6-1.
