Victoria Salmon Kings News Release

The Salmon Kings started the scoring when a Sean O'Connor shot went off the end boards and ended up rebounding right onto Curtis Billsten's stick. He made no mistake putting the puck into the back of the net for the Victoria lead. At the end of the first, the Salmon Kings would hold a 1-0 lead.

Victoria increased their lead on the power play at the 10:59 mark of the second period on a point shot by Patrick Coulombe. The Salmon Kings made it 3-0 with a shorthanded marker from O'Connor. Wes Goldie notched his 29th of the season during a 5-on-3 power-play after a pretty pass from Gary Gladue. Victoria led 4-0 after 40 minutes.

Darryl Lloyd and Brady Leavold added third period goals for the Kings to increase the margin to 6-0. Bakersfield's Brett Pilkington spoiled the shutout bid when he beat Boutin for the Condor's only goal. Victoria stretched their winning streak to 13 games. Salmon Kings 6 Condors 1.
