
Wranglers Fall to Grizzlies, 4-2

Las Vegas, Nev.-- After three consecutive games scoring the first three goals of the contest the Las Vegas Wranglers gave up the first three goals to Utah on Wednesday night's defeat. Wrangler's goaltender Michael Ouzas tallied only his second regulation loss of the season while Grizzlies' net minder Andrew Engelage earned his sixth win of the season. Utah's Kevin Deeth scored the first two goals of the game and added one assist to earn the first star of the match. The Grizzlies tallied on one of their three power play opportunities as the Wranglers were unable to tally on their three matching chances. The Wranglers drop to 13-5-2 on the season and fall off their eight-game point streak as Utah improves to 13-7-4. The Grizzlies earned their second home win and the Wranglers registered only their second regulation road loss of the season.
Utah's Kevin Deeth scored the first two goals of the game to put the Grizzlies ahead in the first period. At 11:54 Deeth notched his third goal of the season with assists going to Simon Ferguson and Brock Wilson. Deeth's power play goal at 16:03 assisted by Matt Clarke and Nick Tuzzolino put Utah up by two as both teams headed to the locker room.
Utah returned in the second period with their third unanswered goal at 3:23 credited to Tim Crowder assists going to Simon Ferguson and Kevin Deeth. Las Vegas tallied their first goal of the game and cut into Utah's lead at 13:07 when defenseman Barry Goers found the back of the net assisted by Vince Bellissimo. After two periods of play the Grizzlies were on top 3-1.
Sea McMonagle's unassisted tally for Las Vegas at 5:30 of the third period cut the differential to one. Utah answered back at 11:58 with Michael Gergen's goal assisted by Chris Donovan and Marcus Carroll to put Utah back up by two and seal the win for the Grizzlies.
Las Vegas faces Utah again on Friday, December 17th, at the Maverik Center in Utah. The Wranglers return home to host Idaho on Saturday, December 18th, and Sunday December 19th.
The Las Vegas Wranglersé are the ECHL affiliate to the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes and the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage.
