Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades are proud to announce that their fans came through with flying colors during the annual "Teddy Bear Toss!" on December 11 at Germain Arena. When David Fischer scored midway through the first period against Greenville, the fans showered the ice with over 6,000 stuffed toys that have been donated throughout South West Florida.

This season the stuffed toys were donated to several SW Florida youth organizations including Toys for Tots, The Lee County Sheriffs Department Youth Programs and The Children's Hospital of SW Florida.

On Monday, December 13 several Everblades players hand delivered a portion of the stuffed toys to kids battling cancer at the Children's Hospital.

In addition to the Teddy Bear Toss, the Everblades wore special holiday themed jerseys that were auctioned off live following Saturday's game. The jersey auction raised $12,150, of which proceeds will benefit the Deb Kelsey Memorial Scholarship Fund.
