
Worcester\'s Buckley Suspended For Four Games

MANCHESTER, NH â The American Hockey League announced on Tuesday that Worcester IceCats defenseman Brendan Buckley has been suspended for four (4) regular season games as a result of his actions in a January 14, 2005 AHL game in Manchester. Manchester Monarchs center Yanick Lehoux, out indefinitely with a knee sprain, was injured as a result of Buckley's actions.
Buckley will miss Worcester's next four regular season games: Wednesday, January 19 at Manchester; Friday, January 21 versus Hartford; Saturday, January 22 at Portland and Sunday, January 23 versus Manchester.
Also on Tuesday, the Monarchs recalled center Jeff Miles from their ECHL affiliate, the Reading Royals.
Miles, 23, has appeared in 34 games with the Royals this season and leads the team with 17 goals and 33 points (17-16=33). The 6-foot, 188-pound native of Pickering, Ontario, has six penalty minutes on the season. Selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the ninth-round (268th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Miles signed a one-year contract with the Monarchs on September 8, 2004.
The Monarchs assigned Miles to the Royals on October 12, 2004.
The Monarchs host the IceCats at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Wednesday, January 19 at 7:05 p.m. before they hit the road and travel to Binghamton for a 7:05 p.m. contest against the Senators at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Friday, January 21. They then head to the Pepsi Arena to face-off against the Albany River Rats on Saturday, January 22 at 7:30 p.m. The Monarchs finish up the weekend at the DCU Center as they battle with the IceCats at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday, January 23.
Ticket Availability: 200 seats in the Gold level and 2,900 seats in the Silver level remain for the Monarchs game against the IceCats on Wednesday night.
