Falcons Release Elliott from ATO

Springfield, Mass. – The Springfield Falcons, American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning, today announced that the club has released left wing Brandon Elliott from his amateur tryout agreement.

Elliott, 20, skated in two games with the Falcons, collecting seven penalty minutes. Prior to signing with Springfield on Dec. 9, Elliott registered five points (1g, 4a) and 74 penalty minutes (PIM) in 22 games this season with Mississauga of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The 6-4, 225-pound native of Orangeville, Ontario recorded nine points (1g, 8a) and 177 PIM in 59 games over three seasons with Mississauga.

Elliott was chosen by the Lightning in the fifth round (158th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The Falcons will visit the Wolf Pack in Hartford in their next game on Wednesday. The club will return to The Nest to host the Lowell Lock Monsters on Friday and the Providence Bruins next Saturday.
