Woodchucks Battle It out in Kalamazoo

Wausau, WIS - The Wisconsin Woodchucks played game number two against the Kalamazoo Growlers tonight. They played a close game, with a tie score of 2-2 into the bottom of the 9th inning, but lost on a double by Growlers first baseman Niko Kavadas with a final score of 3-2.

Starting pitcher Brett Wicklund did well on the bump, going six innings with six strikeouts. Relief pitcher Drew Holweger followed with a scoreless inning on the mound. Jordan Walden pitched a scoreless eighth inning before letting up the double in the ninth.

Top Performers

Tommy Duddleston hit a sacrifice fly in the second inning, driving in a run from Mason Doolittle. Derek Schwimmer drove in the second run of the game for the 'Chucks after hitting a single, leading to an error by the Growlers first baseman.
