Stingers Take Both from Eau Claire

Willmar, Minn.- In a tight playoff chase early on in the season The Willmar Stingers were able to keep up with the the north division, defeating Eau Claire 3-1 on Wednesday.

The victory for Willmar was in large part do to a fantastic pitching performance from starter Jonathan McKinney (Georgia Gwinnett). McKinney went 5.2 innings, gave up just 4 hits and allowed just a single run. McKinney got the win.

Offensively tfor the stingers Jonathan Trousdale (Alabama) led the charge with a two hits in three at-bats.

The Stingers scored three runs with RBIs from Jayson Newman (Cal State-Northridge), Calvin Estrada (Long Beach St) and Richie Garcia (Florida Gulf Coast).

The Stingers improve to 9-7 on the year and now start a two game series against Thunder Bay starting tomorrow night.
