WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento River Cats (8-8) beat the Salt Lake Stingers (11-5) 5-1 on Friday at Raley Field. The win marked Sacramento's third straight and improved the River Cats' record to 5-3 at Raley Field.
RHP Mike Wood (2-2) earned the win, allowing 1 ER on 5 H in 6.0 IP. Salt Lake's RHP Steve Green (3-1) was charged with the loss, his first of the season. C Mike Rose led the Cats' offense with 3 H, his second consecutive three-hit game. Rose finished the night with two singles and one home run.
The River Cats will begin an eight-game, nine-day roadtrip (Las Vegas, Tucson) tomorrow in Las Vegas.
