CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Adam Godwin spoiled Lookouts starter Travis Wood's hitless bid with a two-out RBI double in the eighth inning, while early offense in Wood's support led the Chattanooga Lookouts (61-66, 24-33) to a 3-1 win over the Jacksonville Suns (57-70, 24-33) in front of 1,818 Tuesday night at AT&T Field.

The current series is even at one game each, with Jacksonville's lead in the season series against Chattanooga five games to three.

Travis Wood (3-8) allowed one run, one hit and two walks over eight innings in his fifteenth start of the season. The southpaw was perfect through six and one-thirds innings before his first walk, and allowed the first Suns hit from Adam Godwin with two out in the eighth inning. Godwin's double drove in Lucas May, who had walked earlier in the inning.

Suns starter Eric DuBose (0-1) allowed three runs and six hits over five innings during his third outing and second consecutive start with the Suns. Chattanooga's Chris Valaika singled in a first inning run while Chris Heisey and Tonys Gutierrez drove in third inning runs with extra base hits.

Ramon Geronimo (2) saved the game, but left the bases loaded in the ninth inning.

Suns LH James Adkins will face Lookouts RH Sam LeCure Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. ET in game three at AT&T Field. Radio coverage is available starting at 7:00 p.m. ET on tape delay on WFXJ-AM 930 or online live at jaxsuns.com.
