Diamond Jaxx can't outscore Mobile

(Mobile, AL) August 19th- The Mobile BayBears scored five runs in the first inning and went on to beat the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx 6-2 in game two of the five game series from Hank Aaron Stadium in Mobile.

After spotting the Diamond Jaxx a 1-0 lead, Mobile scored five runs off losing pitcher Tracy Thorpe (1-1). Yunesky Sanchez led off the bottom of the first with a double to left. He took third on a passed ball by Jaxx catcher Adam Moore and scored on a RBI single by Bryan Byrne. Gerardo Parra made it 2-1 when he doubled to right-center, scoring Bryne from first base. Parra stole third and watched as Javier Brito was hit by a pitch to put runners at the corners with nobody out. One out later, John Hester capped off the five run frame with a three run homer over the left field wall, giving the BayBears a 5-1 lead.

Mobile starter Matt Green (2-2) picked up the win, allowing two runs on three hits over five innings of work. The BayBears bullpen allowed no runs on just one hit over the final four innings of work, walking one while striking out seven.

Brent Johnson and Noah Hall hit solo home runs for the Diamond Jaxx, who have now homered twelve times over the last four games, spanning twenty-eight innings of play.

Game three of the five game series takes place on Wednesday night at 7:05 CDT. Right-hander Gaby Hernandez (3-1 5.53) will get the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Mobile will counter with righty Brooks Brown (6-13 3.99).
