
Wong Reaches Impressive Milestones as Blades Down Tigers 3-1

MILESTONES:Captain Trevor Wong reached several milestones en route to the Saskatoon Blades 3-1 victory at SaskTel Centre against the Medicine Hat Tigers.
The 20-year-old center recorded two assists in the victory, the first being his 250th career WHL points. Wong has 71 goals and 181 assists in 258 career games, 13 goals and 79 assists have come in 61 games this season. Wong's second assist of the evening moved into sixth place in Saskatoon Blades history for single season assists.
NHL drafted talent lit the lamp for Saskatoon. Nashville Predators prospect Tanner Molendyk opened the scoring in the first period with his ninth of the season, giving him 49 points in 44 games.
Anaheim Ducks draft pick Egor Sidorov scored his 11th game-winning goal of the year in the second period. The 6-foot winger has 46 goals and 79 points in 59 games. Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Fraser Minten iced the game with a empty-net goal for his 20th goal of the season.
Strathmore, AB netminder Austin Elliott 23 shots to earn his second straight victory. The 19-year-old goalie is 27-7-2-1 in his second WHL season.
The Blades move within four points of clinching first place in the Eastern Conference and sit atop the WHL with a 44-12-2-3 record.
NEXT GAME: The Blades retire Frank Banham's number 39 tomorrow night at SaskTel Centre against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
The jersey retirement ceremony begins at 6:57pm.
