David Byrne Signs with Tri-City

KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans general manager Bob Tory announced today the team has signed 2008-born defenseman David Byrne to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. He was drafted by the Americans in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft, 144th overall in the seventh round.

"David is a solid defenseman who skates well, has good mobility and possesses good vision and puck skills," said Tory.

The six-foot, 170-pound Byrne spent the 2023-24 season with the Edge School U17 Prep team in Calgary collecting 24 points (7-17-24) in 30 games.

Tri-City drafted Byrne after his 2022-23 campaign where he scored 20 points (6-14-20) in 34 games with the U15 Calgary Royals.

The Americans would like to welcome Byrne and his family to the organization.
