Wolves to Give American Red Cross a Check That Doesn't Hurt

March 23, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves will present the American Red Cross with a check for $26,000 during the first intermission when the team battles the San Antonio Rampage at the Allstate Arena on Sat., March 25, at 7 p.m.

The Wolves generated the money for the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina relief efforts this season through a variety of fundraising and activities, which includes the team's Mardi Gras jersey auction and raffle in late January. The squad sported special Mardi Gras-themed sweaters - in honor of those affected in New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina - at home games on Jan. 18, 21 and 22.

"When the devastating storms hit the Gulf Coast, we wanted to do something to reach out and help those affected," Wolves Executive Vice President of Business Operations Adam Fox said. "Thanks to the generous support of the Wolves organization and their fans, we are pleased to contribute to the region's continued rebuilding effort."

The team also auctioned one item dedicated to the hurricane relief effort at the 19 home contests leading up to the Mardi-Gras festivities.
