Falcons Recall Andress

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that they have recalled defenseman Doug Andress from their ECHL affiliate, the Johnstown Chiefs. Andress is expected to join the Falcons on Thursday as they prepare to travel to Hartford on Friday for a meeting against the Wolf Pack.

Andress is in his second season of professional hockey and currently leads all Johnstown defensemen in scoring with six goals and 30 assists for 36 points and 39 penalty minutes in 59 games this season. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound native of Iroquois Falls, Ontario made his AHL debut this year with the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights.

During the 2004-05 campaign, Andress split the season between South Carolina and Toledo of the ECHL collecting five goals and 14 assists for 19 points in 69 games played. Andress played his collegiate hockey with Ohio State University from 2000-2004 where he was named the CCHA Defenseman of the Year during his senior season.

The Falcons return to action this weekend for three games when they travel to Hartford on Friday and Lowell on Saturday night. Springfield returns home to host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Sunday, March 26 at 4:05 PM. All games can be heard live on the Falcons Hockey Network, WMAS AM 1450, as "The Voice" of the Falcons John Michael handles the play-by-play duties. All games can also be seen live through the B-2 Network for only $6.00.
