On Dec. 7, Agostino became the third American Hockey League player of the season to collect four assists in a game; he is the first Wolves player to accomplish the feat since Jason Krog on April 12, 2008, as part of Krog's five-point night (G, 4A) to help the Wolves overcome their in-state rivals, the Rockford IceHogs, 7-1, in Rockford. In that Dec. 7 matchup, Agostino registered two power-play points to push his man-advantage point total to 11, which is second- best among Wolves skaters.
PHEONIX COPLEY The North Pole, Alaska, native backstopped the Chicago Wolves for both of the squad's victories. In two contests, the 24-year-old made 56 saves and only gave up three goals for a .949 save percentage and a 1.50 goals-against average. This two-game stretch marks Copley's first back-to-back contests since Nov. 19 and 22 - a 5-0 shutout against Iowa and a 4-3 loss to Charlotte. Copley has won four of his last five starts.
BRAD HUNT The 28-year-old defenseman only appeared in one game last week with the Chicago Wolves, but he quietly registered a goal and two assists in the 6-5 overtime setback against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Dec. 7. The next day, Hunt was recalled from loan by the St. Louis Blues (NHL) and made his debut with the squad on Dec. 9 against the New Jersey Devils, and then stayed in the Blues lineup for their Dec. 11 game versus the Minnesota Wild. Through two NHL games, Hunt has two assists, a +2 plus/minus rating and three shots on goal.
REWIND
(2-0-1-0) Sunday, Dec. 11 (at) Chicago 4, Grand Rapids 1 - Chicago defeated Grand Rapids in the clubs' fifth meeting of the season.
- Goaltender Pheonix Copley made 27 saves in the victory.
- Forwards Andrew Agozzino, Jordan Caron, Bryce Gervais and Wade Megan all tallied for Chicago.
- The win was the Wolves' sixth consecutive game scoring four or more goals.
Saturday, Dec. 10 Chicago 5, (at) Milwaukee 2 - The Wolves toppled the Admirals for the first time this season in Amtrak Rivalry competition.
- Rookie defenseman Vince Dunn registered two goals while forward Kenny Agostino nabbed two points (G, A).
- Forward Ivan Barbashev and captain Chris Butler also tallied in the win.
- Goaltender Phoenix Copley turned aside 29 shots in the game.
Wednesday, Dec. 7 (at) Grand Rapids 6, Chicago 5 (OT) - The Wolves were edged in overtime for the second time this season by the Griffins.
- Forward Kenny Agostino registered four assists and center Wade Megan collected two goals.
- Left wing Andrew Agozzino, center Bryce Gervais and defenseman Brad Hunt also tallied.
- Goaltender Jordan Binnington made 29 saves in the loss.
This Week's Chicago Wolves Headlines Wolves Roundup MONDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2016 WOLF TRACKS - The Rookies are All Right | The 2016-17 rookie class keeps producing for the Chicago Wolves.
In the last three games, they collected four goals and four assists for eight points. Rookie defenseman Vince Dunn led the charge with a two-goal performance on Saturday, Dec. 11, in the Wolves' 5-2 victory over the Milwaukee Admirals.
The 20-year-old is also the Wolves' leading rookie scorer with nine points (3G, 6A) through 21 games.
Samuel Blais (A), Conner Bleackley (A), Bryce Gervais (2G, A) and Justin Selman (A) were the other rookies who registered points this past week. - Epilepsy Awareness Raffle and Night | In conjunction with Epilepsy Awareness Night, the Chicago Wolves are hosting a raffle that features unique prize packages and experiences. Packages include a pregame Chicago Cubs experience with Cubs and Wolves national anthem singer Wayne Messmer or a Wolves luxury-box experience with Wolves general manager Wendell Young and legendary NHL goaltender Martin Brodeur. Tickets are $10 each and can be added to the package of choice. The winning raffle tickets will be drawn at the end of second intermission on Saturday (Dec. 17), during the Wolves' annual Epilepsy Awareness Night, presented by Heidenhain. - Toys for Tots | Help the Chicago Wolves brighten the holidays for children in need by donating to the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots Drive at Wolves home games from now through Dec. 22, excluding Thursday's (Dec. 15) contest against the Grand Rapids Griffins. Fans are encouraged to bring in new, unwrapped toys and drop them into the Toys for Tots boxes on the concourse throughout Allstate Arena.
