Chicago Wolves News Release

GLENVIEW, Ill. - The Chicago Wolves begin their 22nd season of the "Read to Succeed" program, presented by Butternut and J.U.L.I.E. Call 811, with appearances in Prospect Heights and Skokie on Tuesday, Dec. 13.

Rookie forward Mackenzie MacEachern speaks to children at 4 p.m. at Prospect Heights Library (12 N. Elm Street) while fifth-year professional Alex Friesen makes a 4:30 p.m. visit to the Skokie Public Library (5215 Oakton Street).

Over the next four months, Wolves players will visit libraries in Cary, Crestwood, Crystal Lake, Huntley, Lincolnwood, Lisle, Naperville, Niles, Northbrook, Palos Heights, Park Ridge and Woodridge as part of the comprehensive program that has reached more than 500,000 students since launching in 1995.

The Read to Succeed program highlights the importance of recreational reading and encourages children to take advantage of everything libraries provide. The players emphasize the benefits of reading beyond normal classroom assignments and reveal how they continue to benefit from recreational reading as professional athletes.

Read to Succeed participants can win prizes -- including Wolves tickets, knit hats and drawstring bags -- for setting and achieving reading goals in conjunction with their local library.
