Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves will host their second annual "Hockey For Her" fundraising event, sponsored by Rush North Shore Medical Center, at the Hoffman Estates Park District Community Center and Ice Arena, 1685 W. Higgins Road, on Tue., Feb. 5, at 7 p.m.
"Hockey For Her" provides women, ages 18 and up, an introductory glance at the sport by giving them the chance to go behind the scenes of a professional team.
"It's not often that we, as a professional sports team, get to focus our attention solely on women's issues and we were really happy with the positive reception this event got last year," said Wolves Vice President of Operations Courtney Mahoney. "The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund is a cause we are excited to be able to support, and we are glad to be able to work with Rush North Shore again to create an event that brings together hockey, women's health issues and fundraising in a very fun evening."
A $50 registration fee includes a sneak peek at the Wolves state-of-the-art practice facility, strength and conditioning instruction from Assistant Coach WENDELL YOUNG, an equipment demo by Assistant Coach TODD NELSON and the chance to talk strategy with Head Coach JOHN ANDERSON.
Several Wolves players including NATHAN OYSTRICK, ALEXANDRE GIROUX, BRIAN SIPOTZ, BRETT STERLING and ONDREJ PAVELEC will also be on hand to answer questions about the game and their lives as professional athletes.
In addition, participants will take home gift bags, enjoy refreshments courtesy of Gino's East in Rolling Meadows and Pepsi, and have the chance to bid on items including lunch with players, spa visits and special game packages at a silent auction throughout the evening.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and various Chicagoland charities. For more information, or to sign up, log on to chicagowolves.com or call 1-800-THE-WOLVES.
