Kaleta, MacArthur recalled by Buffalo

(Rochester, NY)... The Buffalo Sabres announced today that the team has recalled right wing Patrick Kaleta and left wing Clarke MacArthur from the Rochester Americans.

Kaleta receives his second recall after being reassigned to Rochester prior to the All-Star break. The second-year man has four points (1+3) and 104 penalty minutes (PIM) in 28 games with the Amerks. The 21-year-old Buffalo, NY, native has skated in eight games this season with the Buffalo Sabres. The hard-nosed grinder is second on the team with 19 hits, averaging two per game. Kaleta was Buffalo's sixth-round selection (176th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

MacArthur, 22, rejoins the Sabres lineup in his fourth NHL promotion of the season. The Lloydminster, Alberta, native leaves the Amerks with 30 points (11+19) in 26 games. With Buffalo, MacArthur has nine points (5+4) and eight PIM in 21 games. MacArthur was a third-round selection (74th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

The Rochester Americans open their February 2008 schedule this week with a weekend pair against the North Division leading Toronto Marlies.

The home-and-home series between the division rivals will begin on Friday, February 1st as the Marlies make their fourth trip back to The Blue Cross Arena for the sixth of eight of meetings this season. The 7:35 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 networks. Rochester is 0-5-0 this season and 9-14-0 all-time against the Toronto Maple Leafs' affiliate.

The contest falls on the next installment of the Amerks' Friday Night Frenzies. Fans can enjoy live music from Bandit in the main lobby of The Blue Cross Arena up until gametime. The game will also be "Go Red for Women" Night as the American Heart Association will distribute 6,000 rally cards.
