Grand Rapids Griffins News Release
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins on Tuesday traded right wing Adam Keefe to the AHL's San Antonio Rampage in exchange for the loan of center Tyler Redenbach from the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes.
Redenbach, 23, has totaled 84 points (32-52-84) in 127 AHL games with Providence and San Antonio during his three-year career. He has registered one assist in six games with the Rampage this season, spending the majority of the campaign with the Central Hockey League's Arizona Sundogs. One of the CHL's top players, he ranks second on the circuit with 66 points (tied) and 48 assists in just 31 games and had a league-high 21-game point streak earlier this season.
In the CHL All-Star Game on Jan. 16, Redenbach logged a game-high six points (1-5-6) to lead the Southern Conference to an 11-6 win over the Northern Conference.
During his 2005-06 rookie season with Providence, Redenbach was voted the Bruins' rookie of the year after leading the club in games played (78) and plus-minus (+20) and placing third in scoring (26-32-58). Phoenix's first choice, 77th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, he led the Western Hockey League in 2003-04 with 105 points and 74 assists for Swift Current, earning WHL Second Team All-Star honors.
Keefe, 23, appeared in 32 games with the Griffins this season, netting one goal and racking up a team-high 124 penalty minutes. In parts of two seasons with Grand Rapids, he totaled four points (1-3-4) and 221 PIM in 48 games.
Redenbach will be available to make his Grand Rapids debut this Thursday when the Griffins visit Peoria for an 8 p.m. EST faceoff with the Rivermen.
