Canucks recall MacIntyre and McIver

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have recalled goaltender Drew MacIntyre and defenceman Nathan McIver to Manitoba.

MacIntyre, 25, has appeared in one game this season with the Canucks. On Dec. 13/07, the Charlottetown, PEI native stopped nine of 11 shots in 40 minutes of action at Anaheim. With the Moose this season, MacIntyre is currently ninth in the AHL with a goals against average of 2.30; he is fourth in the league with a save percentage of .923 and has a record of 16-11-1 in 28 games with one shutout. This past weekend, MacIntyre played in his first career AHL All-Star Classic in Binghamton, NY where he stopped 15 of 16 shots and three of four shootout attempts as the Canadian All-Stars won the game 9-8. MacIntyre was originally drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the fourth round, 121st overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

McIver, 23, has appeared in three games with the Canucks this season following his recall on Jan. 11/08. In 31 games with the Moose, the Summerside, PEI native scored two goals and two assists for four points and 74 penalty minutes. He scored the game-winning goal Nov. 10/07 vs. Milwaukee and then scored the overtime winner Dec. 22/07 vs. Hamilton. McIver was originally Vancouver's eighth round draft choice, 254th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
