October 5, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves are proud to announce a new inter-divisional tradition for the 2011-2012 season; the Illinois Lottery Cup. The Illinois Lottery Cup brings a new level of excitement to the regular-season games played between the Chicago Wolves, Peoria Rivermen and Rockford IceHogs. The three teams will compete for the best regular-season record against one another and the winner will be crowned as the inaugural Illinois Lottery Cup Champion.
The Illinois Lottery Cup provides an added element of competition for the three intrastate rivals this season: the Illinois Lottery Cup goes to the winner of the head-to-head regular-season series. The Illinois Lottery Cup will be present at games for fan interaction and fans have the chance to win Illinois Lottery Instant tickets throughout the year at various games.
"We are very excited about the launch of the inaugural Illinois Lottery Cup," said Wolves President Mike Gordon. "Hockey fans across the state have always felt that the games between Chicago, Peoria and Rockford have meant more. Now they do."

We are looking forward to coming out to Allstate Arena throughout the season to support the fans and spread some hockey fever."
Chicago earned a 4-1-1-2 series victory over Peoria last year, while the Wolves were 5-3-2-0 victors over Rockford during the 2011-11 season.
