Sudbury Wolves News Release
The Sudbury Wolves wrapped up their first road trip of the season on Thanksgiving Monday, falling 8-2 to the Kitchener Rangers. It was a disappointing loss after a tough weekend for the Wolves. Wolves' rookies continue to produce as BEN GARAGAN and DMITRY SOKOLOV scored for the Wolfpack.
Kitchener was able to take the lead halfway through the opening period and never looked back. A powerplay marker late in the frame gave the Rangers a two-goal lead after one. Shots were 10-3 for Kitchener.
The second period proved to be very unkind to the Wolves. The Rangers scored four goals in the period, including three goals within the first five minutes of the period. Kitchener led 6-0 after 40 minutes, outshooting the Wolves 25-14.
The third period was the Wolves best, as they battled to tie the period. Despite allowing two powerplay goals, the Wolves were able to get on the scoresheet. DMITRY SOKOLOV scored a powerplay goal of his own, and BEN GARAGAN notched his first OHL goal. MACAULEY CARSON picked up his first OHL point with the assist on Garagan's goal. Final shots were 37-20 in favour of the Rangers.
The Wolves will look to rebound this Friday, October 16th as they return home to host the North Bay Battalion. This will be the first meeting between the northern rivals this season. Tickets are available at the Sudbury Arena Box Office, by calling (705)-671-3000, or by visiting www.greatersudbury.ca.
