
Wolves Fall to Mad Ants in Double-OT Battle

ORLANDO, FL - The Iowa Wolves (0-7), the NBA G League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves, fell in double-overtime to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (2-5), by a score of 93-98 today at AdventHealth Arena.
The Wolves led by as many as 15 in the first half, heading to the locker room up 48-40 against the Mad Ants. Canyon Barry led the Wolves at the half with 10 points on 5-of-7 field goals.
Fort Wayne opened the third quarter on a 8-2 run, eventually tying the game at 50 points at 7:44. Isaiah Briscoe made a long three-pointer at the buzzer for Iowa to end the third, tying the game again at 70-70.
A back-and-forth fourth quarter led the 19 points for each team and sent the game into its first overtime tied at 89-89.
Canyon Barry drove-in for a layup to put Iowa up 91-89, but Amida Brimah also scored seconds later to tie the match at 91-91. Neither team scored in the last 40 seconds of the first overtime, sending the game into a second overtime.
Isaiah Briscoe scored at the 1:54 mark of the second overtime, which would end up being Iowa's final made basket. Free-throws sealed the game for Fort Wayne at a final score of 98-93.
Isaiah Briscoe led all Iowa scorers with 19 points and 6 assists, also grabbing 9 rebounds. Tyler Cook tallied his fourth double-double on the season and became just the third player in the League during this 2021 season (including Luka Samanic (AUS) and Jordan Bell (ERI)) to tally at least 15 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists, finishing the game with 16 points, a season-high 18 rebounds and 5 assists. Canyon Barry finished with 18 points.
Oshae Brissett led the Mad Ants with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Brian Bowen II, Jalen Lecque, Josh Gray and Devin Robinson all added double-digits for Fort Wayne.
The Wolves will take on the Oklahoma City Blue on Monday, February 22 at 10:00 a.m. CT at AdventHealth Arena.
