
'Wolves Drop Series Finale

The SeaWolves could not figure out the Binghamton Mets on Sunday afternoon at NYSEG Stadium as they dropped the series finale 13-3. Erie is back at home on Monday night for Buck Night.
The SeaWolves jumped ahead in the top of the first inning against Mets starter Gonzalez Germen. Jamie Johnson led off with a single, moved to second on a Nick Castellanos walk and scored on a Jordan Lennerton opposite-field single for a 1-0 lead.
The lead was short lived as the Mets jumped all over Erie starter Kelvin De La Cruz in the bottom of the first inning. With one out, Reese Havens singled and moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a Wilmer Flores double tying the game. Eric Campbell singled home Havens for a 2-1 Mets lead. Allen Dykstra singled putting runners on the corners for Jefry Marte. Marte singled home Flores for a 3-1 Mets edge. Dustin Martin tripled home a pair for a 5-1 lead and Juan Lagarez completed a six-run inning knocking home Martin.
Erie got one back in the second. Rawley Bishop singled and stole second. Wes Thigpen doubled home Bishop with two outs making it 6-2. That would be as close as Erie would get.
In the second, the Mets added to their lead on reliever Jared Gayhart. Campbell singled and Dykstra walked with one out. Martin cleared the bases with his second two-run triple making it 8-2. Juan Centeno singled home Martin for a 9-2 lead.
Binghamton added runs in the sixth and seventh inning off of Ryan Robowski. In the sixth, Flores connected on a solo home and in the seventh, Lagares and Havens each drove in runs.
Erie scored one in the eighth on a pinch-hit solo home run off the bat of Michael Rockett, his fourth.
De La Cruz (5-8) took the loss lasting just 0.2 of an inning allowing six runs on six hits.
The 'Wolves return home Monday night for Buck Night.7:05 First Pitch. RHP Cesar Carrillo (1-1, 4.97 ERA) takes the mound for Erie against RHP Tim Bascom (4-5, 4.03 ERA).
