Wolves Drop 5-2 Decision

November 15, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Sudbury Wolves News Release

The Sudbury Wolves spotted the Mississauga Steelheads a 3 goal lead on Friday night before the ten minute mark of the game and the lead proved to be insurmountable as the Steelheads prevailed 5-2. The Wolves entered the game without the services of co-captain Brody Silk and sophomore forward David Zeppieri who did not make the road trip due to injury.

Kyle Capobianco and Nick Baptiste scored back-to-back power play goals to narrow the lead to 3-2 with just less than five minutes remaining to play in the first period. The momentum didn't last long as the Steelheads capitalized on a odd-man rush and scored late in the frame to take a 4-2 lead after the opening period of play.

The two teams played a scoreless game the rest of the way until the Steelheads scored into the empty net with four seconds remaining on the clock. Troy Timpano went the distance in goal for the Wolves and stopped 31 of the 35 shots that he faced. The Wolves managed 41 shots on the Mississauga net but only managed to score twice. The Wolves were 2 for 6 on the power play while the salmon were 1 for 5.

The Wolves will look to regroup as they head to Sarnia to face the bumble-bees Saturday night. The Wolves will close-out the weekend in Kitchener on Sunday. All road games can be heard on KFM 95.5 with Stew Kernan calling the live play-by-play.
