Belleville Bulls News Release
BELLEVILLE, ON - The reigning OHL Champion Guelph Storm invade the Yardmen Arena for the first and only time this season on Saturday night. The Bulls are looking to bounce back from a tough 4-1 loss to the Ottawa 67's in our nation's capital. Guelph will be looking for revenge as they were shut out by the Bulls in their home opener on September 26th. Puck drop is set for 7:05pm.
The Storm opened their first of 3 games in a row in Kingston on Friday night, falling 5-0 to the Frontenacs. Guelph is led by left-winger Tyler Bertuzzi who has potted 8 goals and added 15 helpers in 18 games played thus far. 1996-born Pius Suter leads the team in goal scoring with 14 markers. He has also added 5 assists in 18 games played.
Veteran netminder Justin Nichols sits among the OHL's top goaltenders with a 0.907 save percentage and a 2.96 goals against average. The Storm are currently 50 percent throughout the month of November and will be looking to gather some momentum before rounding out their Eastern swing in Ottawa on Sunday.
"We are expecting a much different team then we saw the first time around, they were missing some key players at pro camps to start the season. It is very important for us to realize they are a much different team. They have kids there that have won and know how to win so we will need to be considerably stronger then we were for most of the game last night." said Head Coach George Burnett Saturday morning.
The Belleville Bulls are coming off a 4-1 loss to the aforementioned 67's on Friday night. After trailing early, the 67's flipped the script in the final two periods scoring 4 un-answered goals on Charlie Graham. Vancouver Canucks prospect Jordan Subban extended his point streak to 13 games when he ripped home his 11th of the season from Remi Elie and Brett Welychka. Graham made 32 saves in the loss.
Elie continues to lead the team in points with 11 goals and 14 assists in 20 games played. Subban follows closely behind with 11 goals and 13 assists. Forwards Chad Heffernan and Brett Welychka are sidelined with injuries. Adam Laishram is expected to be back in the line up tonight.
Full play-by-play coverage with Jack Miller starts at 6:50 on 800 CJBQ. Remember to follow along on twitter (@OHLBulls) for all game updates.
-- Saturday is our annual Pucks 4 Pawz night with Hillcrest Animal Hospital in support of Fixed Fur Life.
