
Wolves Can't Overcome Early Lead by Raptors 905

ORLANDO, FL - The Iowa Wolves (2-12), the NBA G League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves, fell to the league-leading Raptors 905 (11-3) by a score of 124-132 today at the HP Field House.
The game kicked off in a battle of the 3-point baskets, with Iowa hitting 7-of-10 and the 905 hitting 5-of-10 in the first quarter. Iowa held the slight advantage in field-goal, 3-point and free-throw percentages, but the 905 held the slight 36-32 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
The 905 led by as many as 17 points in the second quarter, but Iowa fought back to be within six points at halftime, down 65-71. Nik Stauskas led the 905 with 19 points at the half, hitting five 3-pointers in the first half. Lindell Wigginton led all scorers for Iowa with 16 points, while Dakarai Tucker added 13, hitting 4-of-5 overall, including 3-of-4 from behind the arc. Iowa shot 65.7% overall in the first half, outshooting the 56% by the 905.
Iowa couldn't stop the 905 starters in the third quarter, allowing 29-points to the starters alone and 37 overall in the frame. Iowa won the fourth quarter, and tallied the advantage in overall field-goal and 3-point percentage for the game, but was doomed by the early lead by the 905.
Dakarai Tucker led all Iowa scorers with a personal season-high and team-high on the season with 38 points, including tying the Wolves all-time single-game record with ten made 3-point baskets (set by Kelan Martin during the 19-20 season). Overall the Wolves hit a season-high 24 3-point baskets. Raphiael Putney added a season-high 17 points off-the-bench for Iowa.
Nik Stauskas led the Raptors 905 with 29 points. Alize Johnson, Henry Ellenson, Matt Mooney and Tres Tinkle all added double-digit efforts in the win for the 905.
The Wolves will conclude their single-site season in Orlando tomorrow, Friday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. CT, taking on the Lakeland Magic at AdventHealth Arena.
