Clippers Survive Knicks' Late Rally
March 4, 2021 - NBA G League (G League)
Ontario Clippers News Release
Orlando, FL - The Agua Caliente Clippers (5-9) earned their second-consecutive victory, taking down the Westchester Knicks (6-8), 122-120. Westchester's Festus Ezeli missed a potential game-tying tip-in in the final seconds.
Down 14 halfway through the final quarter, the Knicks made things interesting down the stretch, knocking down three tough three-pointers in the final 23.4 seconds to pull the game within a single point. With the lead back to three after a pair of free throws, Agua Caliente elected to intentionally foul with 2.8 seconds remaining to avoid giving up a three. After making the first free throw to bring their deficit to two points, Ignas Brazdeikis intentionally missed the second but Ezeli's potential game-tying tip-in rimmed out.
Three Clippers scored over 20 points today, led by James Palmer Jr.'s 26. Jordan Ford and Amir Coffey followed close behind with 23 and 22 points, respectively. Emanuel Terry added a huge 17-point, 11-rebound double-double.
Brazdeikis led the Knicks with an all-around performance of 22 points, eight rebounds, and 8 assists. Jared Harper added 20 points, including a huge three-pointer down the stretch.
The Clippers will look to finish off the season on a high note as they take on the Greensboro Swarm on Saturday. The ballgame tips off at 4:30 p.m. PT inside the HP Field House at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, FL and can be viewed on ESPN +.
