Wolf Pack earn comeback victory over Albany

Hartford, CT - The Hartford Wolf Pack scored three goals in the third period for a comeback victory against the Albany Devils Saturday at XL Center. Ryan Bourque netted the tying goal with 3:56 remaining in regulation and Hartford scored in three-straight rounds during the shootout for a 4-3 victory.

Mike Sislo, Harri Pesonen and Joe Whitney each scored for the Devils, while Keith Kinkaid made 33 stops.

Darroll Powe and Michael Haley joined Bourque as Hartford's goal scores. David LaNeveu earned the victory with 13 saves. In the shootout, T. J. Hensick, J.T. Miller and Jesper Fast each scored.

Albany goes to 24-14-3-4, while Hartford improves to 16-23-0-5.

Sislo, who was returned on loan by New Jersey before the game, and Pesonen opened the scoring at 10:23 and 12:35 of the second period. Haley got the Wolf Pack on the board 1:38 of the third, but Whitney responded at 2:36. The goal pulled Whitney even with Stephen Gionta (2006-13) for first place in franchise history with 58 career goals. Whitney hit the plateau in his 182nd game - 189 games fewer than Gionta.

Hartford provided the next two goals. Powe scored on a redirect at 9:42 of the third and Bourque followed with a rebound tally to force overtime.

Both teams went 0-2 on the power play and the Wolf Pack owned a 37-16 shot advantage.
