February 1, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
St. John's IceCaps News Release

Paul Postma collected three assists to lead the St. John's IceCaps to a franchise-tying sixth straight win, 3-1 over the Manchester Monarchs, Saturday night at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H.

The win gave St. John's a 5-0 record on this road trip that now concludes.

IceCaps centre Adam Lowry opened the scoring at 3:37 of the first period as he carried the puck through the Monarchs zone and used a wrap-around to beat Manchester goalie J.F.Berube. JC Lipon and Postma had assists. At 16:15, St. John's struck again as Kyle MacKinnon cut down the left side and drove to the net to deposit the puck. Postma and Samson were awarded helpers.

The IceCaps took advantage of a 5-3 powerplay only 44 seconds into the second period to make it 3-0. Jason Jaffray finished off a nifty tic-tac-toe passing play to the right of Berube, while Postma and Samson recorded assists.

Linden Vey, on a rebound in front of IceCaps netminder Michael Hutchinson at 1:27 of the third, put Manchester on the scoreboard. Nick Delauriers had the lone assist.

The IceCaps return to St. John's Tuesday to host the Providence Bruins. Catch all the action with broadcaster Brian Rogers at www.stjohnsicecaps.com or watch online at www.ahllive.com. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. with the pregame show beginning at 7:00.
