Sporting Kansas City News Release

(July 24, 2009) - The Kansas City Wizards activated striker Adam Cristman from the Disabled List Friday in advance of Saturday's contest against the Los Angeles Galaxy at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Cristman, 24, had been on the DL since the start of the season after suffering a fractured toe late in preparations for the 2009 campaign.

Kansas City acquired the third-year striker from the New England Revolution on the day of the expansion draft held last November for first-year club Seattle Sounders FC in exchange for a 2009 3rd round SuperDraft selection and allocation money. Cristman played in 46 games (30 starts) for New England after being selected in the 4th round of the 2007 MLS SuperDraft. He scored 10 goals and added five assists in 2,721 minutes for the Revolution.

Saturday's match against the Galaxy kicks off at 8 p.m. CT, broadcast live nationally on ESPN2. A limited number of tickets remain the contest. Fans are encouraged to buy their tickets to the Los Angeles match soon, as the game is expected to sell out. Kansas City has sold out seven games in 2009, including the last five consecutively. The Wizards are finding ways to add additional capacity due to high demand, including standing room only tickets. Single-game tickets are available online from www.Ticketmaster.com/kcwizards or by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000. For more information, call the Wizards at 913-387-3400.

With Cristman eligible, three Kansas City players remain on the Disabled List: goalkeeper Eric Kronberg, defender/midfielder Chance Myers and midfielder Kevin Souter.

Transaction: Kansas City Wizards (MLS) remove striker Adam Cristman from Disabled List.
