Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON, TX (Friday, July 24, 2009) -- The Houston Dynamo's August 6 game against FC Dallas at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas, will now be televised locally in Houston on KHOU 11.2 and TV Informa, the Dynamo announced today. The start time for the game has changed to 7:30 p.m. CT.
The addition of the August 6 game means KHOU 11.2 will televise 18 of the Dynamo's 30 regular season games by the end of the season, with TV Informa televising 15 games.
The Dynamo and FC Dallas compete each season for El Capitán, a 19th-century mountain howitzer awarded to the winner of the regular-season series. The Dynamo clinched El Capitán for 2009 with a 1-0 win in Houston on May 9 and a 3-1 win in Frisco on June 13. The August 6 match will be the final regular season meeting between the teams this season.
The Dynamo are next at home on Saturday, July 25, their first home game since June 20, when they host the New England Revolution at Robertson Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
The Houston Dynamo are a Major League Soccer franchise that won two MLS Cup championships in its first three seasons and qualified to represent the United States in four consecutive regional championships.
