Wisconsin Scores Run In Tenth To Win

Appleton, WI (June 22, 2008) - The Burlington Bees lost for the first time in the second half as they fell at Wisconsin 4-3 Sunday afternoon. Clint Robinson hit a solo homerun in the ninth inning to tie the game but the Bees could not come up with any more runs as Wisconsin scored a run in the tenth.

The scoring began in the third inning as the Timber Rattlers scored a run to take a 1-0 lead. The Bees then took their only lead of the game in the fourth inning. Jason Taylor led the inning off with a single and stole second base before scoring on a David Lough triple. Lough then scored on a Zach Evangelho single to give the Bees a 2-1 lead.

Wisconsin came back with two runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 3-2 lead and the game stayed at that score through the ninth inning. With two outs, Clint Robinson pinch-hit and hit a 3-2 pitch over the wall in right field to tie the game at 3-3. The Timber Rattlers then scored a run in the bottom of the tenth inning to pick up their first win of the second half.

Eduardo Paulino got the start for the Bees and pitched five innings allowing three runs, two of which were earned, on six hits with four strikeouts. Tony Bradley pitched two innings of scoreless baseball allowing just one hit with five strikeouts. Chris Chavez took the loss to move to 6-1 on the season. Chavez pitched 2.2 innings allowing just the one runs on four hits with five strikeouts. None of the Bees' pitchers issued a walk in the game.

The Bees had nine hits in the game. Adrian Ortiz and Taylor each had two hits.

The Bees return to Community Field Monday night to begin an eight-game home stand. The Bees open a four game series with the Peoria Chiefs Monday night.
