
Wisconsin Herd Drops to Motor City Cruise

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Motor City Cruise 120-102. The Herd started strong grabbing an early lead of 8-5. The lead didn't last for long as the Cruise pushed ahead to take a 10-point lead at the end of the first quarter. The Herd fought back with a huge 11 point run in the second quarter to take the lead but again the Cruise powered ahead at the end of the half. Motor City cruised ahead to another 10-minute lead however the Herd tied the game at the end of the third quarter. The Herd took the lead in the beginning of the fourth quarter, nevertheless the Cruise won the game.
Jordan Bone and Rob Edwards led the Herd with 22 points while Brandon Randolph added 21 points off the bench.
Stanley Umude guided the Cruise with 25 points followed by David Nwaba with 23 points.
The Motor City Cruise hit the first basket of the game, but Iverson Molinar answered with a layup to tie the game. Elijah Hughes and Jordan Bone added back-to-back threes to propel the Herd ahead. Elijah Hughes continued his hot shooting streak hitting two more consecutive three-pointers. The Cruise caught up to the Herd and went ahead 19-18 at the four-minute mark. The Cruise didn't stop, building their lead to eight points. Iverson Molinar hit back-to-back shots to close out the first quarter for the Herd, but it wasn't enough to steal the lead. The Cruise had the 34-24 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Motor City cruised ahead at the beginning of the second quarter to a 16-point lead. Brandon Randolph stopped the run with five straight points. The Cruise answered with a jump shot but Jordan Bone and Rob Edwards combined for five points to cut the Cruise's lead to eight points. The Herd continued the momentum with 11 unanswered points to take the lead 45-44. Motor City stole the lead back going up 51-45 with three minutes left. Brandon Randolph and Paris Bass teamed up for six points, but the Cruise stayed up 58-51 at the end the first half. Rob Edwards led the Herd with 12 points.
Elijah Hughes scored the first basket of the third quarter to bring the Herd within five points. The Cruise answered every basket until the Herd secured six straight points to put them down by one point. The Cruise propelled ahead 71-63 at the seven-minute mark. Jordan Bone and Brandon Randolph added a basket each, but Motor City pushed ahead by 10 points. The Herd outscored the Cruise 11-3 to bring them within two. The Cruise hit a jump shot but Brandon Randolph and Iverson Molinar combined to tie the game 83-83 at the end of the third quarter.
The Cruise hit the first basket of the fourth quarter, but Jordan Bone hit back-to-back three-point shots to put the Herd ahead 89-88. The two teams went back and forth until the Cruise charged ahead 95-89 with eight minutes remaining. Rob Edwards completed a free throw and a three-point shot to slow the Cruise. Jordan Bone and Rob Edwards scored consecutive baskets, but the Cruise powered up with eight unanswered points. Rob Edwards and Brandon Randolph hit a three-point basket each to close out the game. The Cruise won 120-102.
The Herd will return home for the first game of the back-to-back series with the Greensboro Swarm on Friday, January 27th with tipoff set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
