Portland Winterhawks News Release

Over Veterans Day Weekend, November 10th and 11th, the Portland Winterhawks and Budweiser partnered together to raise funds for the Folds of Honor Foundation by auctioning off autographed jerseys and sticks, Veterans memorabilia, coolers, and other items at two Winterhawks home games. We are proud to announce that due to the generous donations from the Portland Winterhawks, our loyal fans and sponsors, as well as Budweiser, a total of $5,000 will be donated to this noble cause.

Folds of Honor is a 501C-3 non-profit foundation dedicated to providing educational scholarships for spouses and children of America's fallen and disabled service-members. Since 2007, Folds of Honor has carried forth this mission and has awarded almost 20,000 scholarships. Folds of Honor Scholarship recipient Franchesca Spann, a junior at Lewis & Clark College in Portland and daughter of decorated US Army Colonel Martin Spann, was honored during the pre-game ceremonies for our Veterans Day game in the Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, November 11th.

The Folds of Honor motto says it best; Honor Their Sacrifice. Educate Their Legacy.
