Tonight...
Eric Florchuk will lead the Blades into Victoria to take on his former club for the first time since being acquired from the Royals in January. It's the second game in as many nights for Saskatoon as they'll look to bounce back after a 5-3 loss last night to the Vancouver Giants last night. A win could see the Blades get back into 2nd place in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile the Royals-- who currently occupy 2nd place in the BC Division-- will attempt to fend off Kamloops and Prince George who are both nipping at their heels sitting just one point back. Victoria hasn't played since Saturday.
The last game...
Kirby Dach (14), Josh Paterson (7), and Max Gerlach (16) scored in a 5-3 loss last night in Vancouver. Nolan Maier made 23 saves in what was his 8th consecutive start.
Tanner Sidaway (3) scored the lone goal for Victoria in their 4-1 loss to Vancouver on Saturday.
Head to Head...
Saskatoon holds the advantage in both power play and penalty kill in tonight's match... the Blades also have a +10 goal differential on the season compared to the Royals -4. Kirby Dach leads the Blades offense with 41 points, Dawson Davidson (27pts) and Max Gerlach (26pts) are close behind. Kaid Oliver leads the Royals with 22 points. Victoria does boast one of the league's best netminders in 20-year-old Griffin Outhouse... he enters tonight's game with a .919SV% in 17 appearances this season looking for career win #99.
Who's hot...
Eric Florchuk has 5 points in his last 5 outings.
Gary Haden has 7pts in his last 7 games.
Kirby Dach is coming off his 13th multi-point game of the season with 1G-1A last night.
Max Gerlach has a goal in each of his last two contests.
