
Winterhawks Roll over Spokane to Open Weekend

Opening their final weekend of the 2020-21 season, the Winterhawks welcomed Spokane to town for their fifth and final meeting.
Just 5:27 in Carolina Hurricanes prospect Seth Jarvis opened the contest with a highlight-reel goal, batting the puck out of midair and pushing the puck home following a power move.
Jarvis' 14th of the campaign was followed up by a Reece Newkirk shot and then Gabe Klassen made it 3-0 in the second.
After Spokane spoiled the Winterhawks shutout bid, Jaydon Dureau added a power play goal, giving him points in 11 of his last 12 games. Then Klassen concluded the night with another tally, giving him his first career four point evening.
In net for the Winterhawks Dante Giannuzzi earned his eighth win of the year.
