
Winterhawks Reassign Chapman, Darby to U18 Programs

Portland, Ore. - The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club today announced the reassignment of forward Owen Chapman, 15, and defenseman Griffin Darby, 14, to their respective Under-18 AAA programs in Saskatchewan.
Chapman and Darby each appeared in two preseason games last weekend, logging their first minutes as Winterhawks after being selected in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft in May.
Both players will compete in the U18 Saskatoon Male AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL) this season - Chapman with the Saskatoon Contacts and Darby with the Swift Current Legionnaires. Both are eligible to play 10 WHL games this season as affiliate players with Portland.
The Winterhawks' roster now stands at 22 players, not counting players currently away at NHL camps.
